8th grade graduation party in full swing.
I'm taking a break from chaperoning duties. My daughter graduated from 8th grade today and the celebratory party is here. It's 11:07 pm and there are eighteen 14 year olds, six pizzas, tons of junk food and five cases of soda here. There is also a drum set. Okay, there's foosball and air hockey, a bon fire, music and laughter, but what I'm hearing right now is the drum set. Some one, or several some ones, is raising quite the racket downstairs. I think they are having a contest where loudness, speed and beat variation seem to be the catagories. Pretty interesting combinations of sounds. I also hear shouts of, "Awesome, that was awesome." I'm just glad that everyone seems to be having a good time. As the concert ends and the group trickles back outside to make smores around the bon fire, I must help myself to some chocolate dipped strawberries and check out the level of pop in the cooler beside the garage. Chaperone duties--checking food and beverage levels while checking the kids. On the other hand, the pop level is probably fine and the strawberries are wonderful!
